Planning a Dubai Marina Jet Ski Tour: A Step-by-Step Guide

Booking a jet ski in Dubai is easy. Getting the one you want at the time you want takes some planning. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1: Choose Your Season and Time Slot

Riding in Dubai is good all year long but the experience differs greatly depending on when you go.
From October to April is the best time to go. During this time the temperatures are in the mid-twenties, the humidity goes down, and the water is nice and comfortable without a wetsuit. Because it is the best time to go, the popular time slots fill up days in advance.
From May to September you can still go, you just have to ride earlier. The 7 AM or 8 AM slot is a good time to go because the water is still calm and the temperatures have not yet skyrocketed. A July afternoon slot is a different story and should be avoided.
No matter when you go, an early start is always better. The Marina is calmer and there is less traffic. The photos you take turn out better and you can tell the Jet Ski is having more fun.

Step 2: Select Your Desired Duration

Different operators have different time options for jet skis but generally have 30, 60, 90, and 120 minute options. Select the duration based on what you want to accomplish:
30 minutes – A short jaunt to see if you like it. You will get a briefing and a short loop but likely will not see any landmarks.
60 minutes – The most popular option. This gives you time to see a landmark or two and do some riding in the open water.
90 – 120 minutes – The full tour. This gives you time to see it all. You can do the full shoreline of the Palm Jumeirah, approach the Burj Al Arab, and even stop for photos at Atlantis.
Most people underestimate how much the first ten minutes of a booking cut into actual riding time. You get about 20 minutes of riding time out of a 30 minute booking.

Step 3: Make a Decision Between Shared and Private

This will influence your riding experience the most.
opting for a shared group session means you’ll ride with strangers, follow a set route, and be stuck riding at the pace of the slowest rider in your group. This option is cheaper and more flexible, so if you’re riding solo, this isn’t a bad option.
For a higher price, you can opt for a Private Jet Ski Tour Dubai have a customizable route and be allowed to stop to take photos. This is a better option if you’re riding with a group that includes people of varying experience and/or is celebrating something. Riding at your own pace and being allowed to stop if you wish is worth the extra money for the tour.

Step 4: Inquire About the Route You’ll Take

“Burj Al Arab tour” is a marketing phrase. You have to ask how close you’ll get, and if there will be a photo stop.
Some operators will just skim by the Burj Al Arab. Others will take you into the bay and shut off their engines for a few minutes. There can be a big difference in experience between these two options, and sometimes the price isn’t adjusted to reflect the difference. Make sure you get answers to your questions before you pay.
You also have to ask if the price is for the time it takes you to get to the water, or if it includes the time you spend in the briefing.

Step 5: Book Ahead, Not On Arrival

There is a chance you will be able to get a timeslot on the day of your reservation, but probably not at the times you want. You should book Jet Ski Dubai Marina sessions 2-4 days in advance during peak season and at least 1 day in advance for the other days.
Find out what the deposit covers and what the cancellation policy is. Weather cancellations should be fully refunded or rescheduled. If an operator does not have a flexible policy, you should go with another operator.
You need to make sure the operator is licensed. Legitimate companies will have a visible permit and will ask for your ID without being prompted.

Step 6: Sort Your Documents

You will need your original Emirates ID or Passport. Copies or photos will not be accepted. This catches people out more than anything else on this list. The minimum age for riding solo is 16. Children under 16 can ride as passengers, but some operators have a minimum passenger age of 8 or 10. You need to check your operator to make sure.
You will not need a license. The safety briefing will cover everything.

Step 7: Pack Light and Sensibly

You will need swimwear and a quick-dry shirt to cover your back on the ride. You will also need to apply reef-safe sunscreen twenty minutes before the ride. Loose sunglasses and jewelry should not be worn.
If you want to take your phone with you, you will need to purchase a floating waterproof pouch. Most operators have lockers, but a sealed pouch means you can take your own photos rather than rely on the guide’s.

Step 8: On the Water

Pay attention to the briefing, even if you have ridden before. Speed zones and distance from swimmers are strictly enforced.
Lean into your turns. Don’t turn them flatter than necessary. Keep the safety lanyard clipped. Stay in the guide’s wake. Jet Ski Adventure Dubai will have you build your confidence gradually. The first few minutes will be slow, but after that, you’ll work on throttle control and then be able to open it up.
Arrive 15 minutes early. Your time will not be extended for being late.
